This course delves into business responsibilities and what are good practices in order to meet your obligations in the area of social compliance.
Course Details
This is a 2-day course which can either be done face to face or virtually using Microsoft Teams and is designed to give participants knowledge and skills of Social Compliance requirements for business.
This course allows businesses and those persons fulfilling key roles within businesses to gain further understanding about social compliance auditing and aligns with the requirements of SEDEX (SMETA) and Fair Farms.
The training is delivered by an APSCA certified auditor and has been approved by APSCA as an approved training course for auditors seeking to meet their minimum CPD hours. The course can also prepare participants to commence the journey of becoming an APSCA certified auditor.
Qualification / Overview
This course is ideal for new or existing personnel working or wishing to work in the business compliance / HR or third-party auditor industry. It is designed to give participants the knowledge and skills required to meet Social Compliance obligations in business. There are no pre-requisites for this training, however, to qualify as an approved auditor you must maintain personal auditor certification and have relevant industry experience. Undertaking this course will provide you with an insight into the world of social compliance Auditing will help prepare participants to complete the assessment process required of an APSCA approved auditor. Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be:
- Aware of the regulatory framework for Social Compliance Auditing
- Understand businesses social compliance obligations and requirements.
- Understand the requirement to become a Social Compliance Auditor
- Awareness of the ethical trade framework
- Understanding of the ethical trade measurement criteria
- Aware of the requirements to plan, prepare, conduct, and report on audit findings.
This interactive course reviews all nine pillars of the Ethical Trade Initiative (ETI) and the core objectives of the International Labour Organisations (ILO). It is an ideal way to maintain and meet ASPCA CPD requirements or gain an understanding of the core standards and principles of Social Compliance Auditing.
The course is conducted both virtually via live web (Microsoft teams) or face to face facilitator led theory/practical classes involving small groups/ individual activities or case studies. The course examines the ethical trade measurement criteria and the requirements of business to meet these criteria.

How will you be assessed
Students will be required to complete quizzes throughout and be active in their contribution towards group discussions. Case studies will be undertaken, and participants will be expected to provide responses to these verbally. At the completion of the two-day workshop, participants are required to complete an online assessment (quiz) and submit within one week of the course being conducted.
Certificate Issued
Participants will be issued a Statement of Completion upon successful completion of case studies and quizzes.
A Statement of Attendance will be issued to all attendees.
